Dear Friends,
I have been adding a lot of poems so far this year. Some of you who have known me for a long time might remember that I used to write a lot of poetry when I was a young'un. When I started doing bands, the poems became lyrics for songs, and then, eventually, the poems just started going away.
Part of my goal for this year here at Ergonomic Mischief is to get the poetic juices flowing again. Each of the poems I have written so far (and will continue to write) have to do with a specific time and place and/or person. I wonder, by the end of the year, if I will remember what the subject matter of each one is if I don't write it down somewhere. I should probably do that.
Yesterday was such a long day for me that I decided to keep today's post short and sweet. Here's a little haiku about a party I went to once.
*****
Teen breath is so bad
I forget sometimes what it was
was like to kiss her
Aqua net and zits
braces and cloves and baggy
clothes with neon pink
The eighties were neat
but not as neat as we thought
when we were fifteen
*****
See you tomorrow.
Super Hold was my jam.
