Dear Friends,
We had a nice Thanksgiving. The food was great, as usual, and the company was pleasant and fun. It was good to see everybody, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
It would have been great to have had others with us, of course, who were off doing other things, but I was certainly thinking about all the people I care about. I thought a lot about how truly thankful I am for all the blessings that have been given to me. Most all, the health and happiness of the people I care about was on my mind as we got a visit from Rhondi’s ex-in-laws.
They are very frail, and it made me think about all the older folks I love. We are here for such a short time, in the grand scheme of things, and it’s good to reflect on how quickly people come in and out of your life. I would give anything to have another conversation with my grandfathers or another hug from Gramma Val. To have a conversation with my Uncles Allen and Dave or Aunt Barbara would be great, too.
So many people who have helped me be who I am today are not around anymore. Someday, I won’t be around, either… and that will be okay. The world will spin and spin and spin. All the people I love will someday be food for plants and worms and the universe. We will finally be one.

I’m tired.

Celebrating is hard work.

Cleaning up is even more fun. We have such a mess going on here. I should be washing dishes and putting a smile on Rhondi’s face but I’m writing this instead. Words offer time to avoid and such.
Divide the mess, I say.
Get it ready and I’ll come in and smite the mess.
Get the garbage in one spot
and the dishes in another.
Send it packing!
I’ll come around the other side and the mess will never see me.
It will never know its life is about to end.
To be gone.
To cease to be a mess and just be our house again.
This mess has a pulse.
I’m babbling.
Celebrating is dirty work.
Avoiding cleaning and being a jerk.
Type your words you avoidance guy!
Sit there thinking
And have another piece of pie.
Sit there dreaming of an ending, too.
Write your story, tell it true.
Avoiding cleanliness
Is a stupid task.
Did you have to ask?

Time to get to work, I suppose. Black Friday…humph. Not for me. Sunny blue-sky Friday and fun with the Friendsgiving day.
See you tomorrow.
Not sure when I took this picture.
