Entry date: 7-15-2023 – Fresh Bear Tracks – Letters to My Friends

Dear Friends,

I’ve been enjoying some ice cream over the last month. I rarely do that anymore, but I figured, “What the heck?” and have had a few scoops here and there. I almost went for the Bear Tracks the other day, but didn’t and had Black Bear, which was vanilla ice cream with black raspberry in it and dark chocolate covered raspberry bits. It was excellent.

We are making some tracks today, too. Headed to the coast to see some friends and take in some different sites. Cousins Ellen and Ned are taking care of Bailey for us and checking in on Doug, too. We will spend the night near Boothbay later and soak up some coastal weather for a day.

It will be fun to hang with our friends Erik and Jamie. They live near Boothbay and took us on a killer boat ride last year that I wrote about a bit. I look forward to seeing them and catching up.

Tomorrow we will take a trip to the Maine Botanical Gardens and then lunch at the place the Maine Cabin Masters pimped out. I wonder if they actually have a controlling ownership in the place or if they are just fronting it to tempt fans like us to stop by and spend dough. It doesn’t matter, though. Food will be welcome.

Will be nice to see the ocean. I like getting to see the ocean whenever I can. Makes me feel a little more connected to the larger world. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll get to see both the Atlantic and Pacific this year.

I’ll have more to say about our travels tomorrow.

The Bet will back on Monday…but…I’m excited about the where the story is taking itself. I bet I can…never mind.

See you tomorrow.

And HE said unto the swing set, "I will save thee, noble swing set," and all was well in the 'hood.
